The Urban League of Kansas' Equal Opportunity Dinner was held on May 26 at the Holiday Inn East (Wichita). The evening began with a silent auction sponsored by the Urban League Guild, with close to 20 entries. Over 200 guests later enjoyed dinner and keynote speaker Riccardo Harris, followed by recognition of the 2016 awardees. Local NULITES participants served as escorts at the event, in support of the theme, Learn Today-Lead Tomorrow: Empowering Our Youth. NULITES: National Urban League Incentives to Excel and Succeed is a flagship youth program of the National Urban League and is one of the Urban League of Kansas' Education programs.
The Urban League of Kansas Board of Trustees and staff express sincere appreciation to all corporate and individual sponsors who supported the event with their resources and with their presence. Plans are already underway for the 2017 Equal Opportunity Dinner. Hope to see you there!
