Supporting youth through comprehensive educational and personal development
programming

TESTIMONIALS:

Simeon Willis, 2015 graduate Southeast High School

I've been a member of the Project Ready program for 3 years. Throughout the years I had the opportunity to be mentored by Mr. Collins, which I have enjoyed greatly. Mr. Collins was one of my strong supporters and has given me advice that has been very beneficial to me. I think the most impactful moments of the Project Ready program has been the chance to visit and become exposed to higher education. Being a member of the program, I've had the opportunity to travel to Illinois, Minnesota, Oklahoma, and other Kansas communities.  Since graduating, I have continued to run track and I have enrolled in a couple of courses at WSU. In July I'll be heading to New York, where I will attend the West Point preparatory school.

Noble McCoy, 2015 graduate Southeast High School

I learned of the Nulites program from a friend who had been a part of the program for a couple of years. She spoke with excitement about the college visits and all the connections she was making through the workshops that the programmed offered.  When the opportunity came available to join the Nulites program and experience it for myself, I took advantage of it. The first meeting had me hooked, when I learned that the mission of the program was to expand a student’s horizon by getting them college ready & work ready. Through this program I have got to experience visiting numerous colleges, by seeing options it allowed me to filter out what type of colleges would be the best fit for me. This program also kept me college ready by giving me opportunities to participate in a multitude of community service opportunities and as well as workshops and seminars that taught me financial literacy, how to apply for college, ACT prep, and FAFSA workshops.  The tools to prepare for and be successful in college were literally at my fingertips. Accessibility to these resources is critical for teens, I wasn’t even aware that half of these resources existed.  The Nulites program is necessary, without it I feel as though I would have been at a lost for how to prepare for college, with it I am going into college assured that I have been gifted the tools necessary for success.  I will be attending Wiley College in Marshall, Tx this fall. Thank you so much Mr. Kareem Collins & Ms. Marquetta Atkins.
